Lot 2 R. W. Loveless LAWNDALE hunter. Front of blade tang marked S241, back of the blade marked K.W.M. Early two color micarta handles, original leather belt sheath numbered S241, 9 3/4" oal, 5" satin finish clip point utility blade. Early Lawndale in mint condition. Sheath has some handling wear. Lot 3 Buster Warenski Art dagger, marked B. Warenski, Richfield, UT, nickel silver frame with pearl inlay. Engraved, 10 5/8" oal with a 6" mirror polished double edge blade. Leather scabbard with nickel silver throat and tip. By one of the legends of knifemaking. (XVI-084) Minimum bid $1,500.00

Lot 4 Jack Busfield, Ranoke Rapids NC mark, stone inlay handles, nickel silver frame engraved by the late Dan Wilkerson, 3 1/2" closed, 6" open, hand rubbed finish on a trailing point shaped blade. Mint. Dated 12/90 on the inside backstrap. (XVI-083) Minimum bid $1,200.00

Lot 5 John Young subhilt fighter, back of the blade etched 1 of 1. Buffalo horn handles with polished stainless fittings, 11" oal, 6 5/8" mirror polished blade with a partially sharpened false edge. Leather belt sheath with hand signature and 1 of 1. Rare model by a top maker trained by Steve Johnson. Can feel a tiny bit of shrinkage of the horn when rubbing your finger over the joint, nothing visible. Mint otherwise. (XVI-019) Minimum bid $1,000.00

Lot 6 Jerry Fisk stag handled hunter, hidden tang, hand rubbed finish on blade and bolster, 9 1/4" oal, 4 3/4" blade, Kenny Rowe sheath, mint except for two or three pinprick specks. (XVI-193) Minimum bid $350.00

Lot 7 Lile Micarta handled hunter, with the dot above the logo, indicating it was made after Jimmy's death when the company ran for a brief time. Black micarta handles, brass fittings, 8 1/2" oal, drilled for lanyard, 3 3/4" blade, with Lile sheath. Mint. (XVI-044) Minimum bid $170.00

Lot 19 Steve Hoel Utility folder, wood handles, 3 7/8" closed, lockback, hand rubbed finish, one tiny indent into the wood at the front pivot rivet. Not usually notable unless it was a Hoel or comparable. Amazing how he can make a basic utility functional folder look like an art knife. Beautiful (XVI-006) Minimum bid $350.00

Lot 20 George Herron hunter. Brushed finish semi-skinner, cocobolo wood handles, original leather belt sheath, legendary Hall of Fame knifemaker, and the father of knifemaking in South Carolina. Straight tang, 7 3/4" oal, 3 1/4" blade. Mint. Does not have the typical number on the tang and matching number on the sheath, more of a utility type knife. (XVI-018) Minimum bid $375.00

Lot 23 Doug Casteel Art Dagger. Damascus double edge blade, engraved brass handle and blade overlay. Stainless guard and pommel. Fabulous knife by an incredible maker (now passed). Originally sold for several thousand dollars. 18" oal, 12" blade, no sheath (likely came in a presentation case that has disappeared back down the line). Lot 60 D. A. Ruana micarta hunter, on back marked, DHR Grand. Dave Ruana is the grandson of legendary Rudy Ruana and worked Saturday's under his Grandad's supervision between 1978-1983. He worked full time for Ruana Knives 1987-1989, but was also making RHR Grand knives signed DARuana with sheath stamped R.H.R. over Grand with a diagonal knife in 1987, likely the year this knife was made. He has undertaken some impressive and intricate art knives in recent years. Mint, micarta handled hunter with three lanyard hole size rivet, 8" oal, 3 5/8" blade. Ming (XVI-122) Minimum bid $120.00

I once asked Bob since he was from Texas did he consider himself a Southerner (as Texas was part of the Confederacy) or since he lived west of the Mississippi did he consider himself a Westerner.
