Lot 137 Western States butter and molasses celluloid handled 3 7/8" serpentine stockman with groved bolsters and blade etched with the buffalo skull etch reading "Western States Sharp Cutlery Premium Stock". Fancy version with engraving on all four bolsters, black composition handles and a diamond shield that is engraved (with white scrim emanating from the shield). Lot 172 WWII Era Western called the "Commando" model. According to Harvey Platts' "The Knifemakers Who Went West" Western was called upon to produced a special knife for a Marine special ops unit.
