Lot 150 Pair of Remington marked knives. Stag handled German made stag handled Congress, and smooth bone German made barlow mint except for some spotting. Neither knife was made by Remington, both made in the early 70's when Remington was not producing knives. The barlow was also made in a Russell marking and are always easy to discover because the end handle rivet is not centered but dropped off center. (85138sbn) Minimum bid $40.00

(Noted Remington collector Paul Davis always maintained that inked pattern numbers were instituted by Dupont after their purchase of Remington c.1936. Lot 174 SUPER RARE. Transition Remington. Pal Blade Company (Bic Razor today) bought Remington's equipment in 1941 and used it until 1953. With a war coming no one wanted to waste blades, and Pal used the blades they inherited from Remington, including examples such as this one with a Pal stamp and a Remington blade etch. Bone handled 2 blade, 3 5/8" serpentine. Only thing that keeps this knife from being pristine mint is a spot on the backspring. Mint. (85164sbn) Minimum bid $150.00

We commonly call these the Wrigley's pattern but the Baby Ruth pattern differs in that they have dedicated shields, and on the bone handle model it was etched, still visible and near mint on this one, and a rough black with a long oval shield full blade excellent plus. Lot 199 THE KNIFE THAT NEVER WAS--BUT IS. CASE TRIPLE XXX. 63094 gunboat canoe, bomb shield, all blades marked Case XXX. This is an original Case knife. Here's the story. Paul Davis suggested the Case XXX marked knife as an ABCA club knife shortly after Jim Parker purchased Case. I went to Jim and asked him for an exclusive on an idea--he said sure. When I said "Triple X" he grinned and said "That's too good an idea to let you have an exclusive on." We did get the 62100 initial release for a club knife, and Jim went on to issue the mark in the Case Classic series in a very short run.
